This course, SafetyQuest, consists of a series of online CME gaming modules that focus on improving patient safety in healthcare settings through innovative learning methods. Participants will gain practical skills in identifying, analyzing and solving patient safety issues.

Course Description

SafetyQuest is a sequential, online educational program that offers levels 1 to 4, each designed to address complex healthcare system challenges and prevent patient safety errors. This course uses a holistic approach involving case-based scenarios and various game modalities to engage and educate healthcare professionals.

What You Will Learn

  • Advanced applications of Quality Improvement (QI) tools, such as Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • Effective strategies for preventing sentinel events and never events like wrong site surgery using Time-out/Universal Protocol.
  • Techniques for event reporting, error disclosure, and communicating with patients and families about errors.

Prerequisites

This course is primarily designed for physicians across various specialty areas who have completed SafetyQuest Level One and Two.
