Remote healthcare — also known as telehealth or telemedicine — has seen an explosion in implementation with a 3,000 percent increase in usage during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.1 While the pandemic may explain this trend, telehealth’s expansion is likely to become a long-term focal point in medical practice, thanks to its ability to connect healthcare professionals and patients in a safe and efficient way.

The Stanford Center for Health Education (SCHE) Telehealth: Strategy, Implementation, and Optimization online short course offers insights into the strategic considerations and best practices for driving healthcare in a shifting technological landscape. This course provides tangible outcomes at an executive and professional level; over six weeks, you’ll gain strategic awareness around the integration and optimization of telehealth as a mainstream healthcare practice. You’ll explore the clinical, operational, financial, and legal requirements of telehealth implementation, with guidance from Stanford (SCHE) experts Natalie M. Pageler and Christopher Sharp. Examine the theoretical foundations as well as the practical, technical, and business aspects of telemedicine and how to best utilize technology to enhance equitable access to healthcare.
