Course Description

This course explores the concepts of "sustainable development" and "transition", tracing their origins, understanding the social and environmental challenges of the 21st century, and reviewing options to transform lifestyles towards greater respect for planetary boundaries. Through an interdisciplinary approach involving experts from various fields such as law, philosophy, engineering, management, agronomy, economics, and medicine, learners will deepen their understanding of these critical issues, gain insights into the debates they spark, and develop a critical perspective on the tensions they involve.
